What is Neuro Emotional Technique

NET is a mind-body stress reduction technique that uses a method of finding and removing neurological imbalances related to the physiological effect of unresolved stress. NET is a tool that helps improve mental and physical health (www.netmindbody.com).

Dr. Scott Walker, a chiropractor in the United States developed NET 20 years ago. He started a research foundation, the ONE Research Foundation that has been conducting many University research studies to validate with scientific proof that NET is truly effective.

NET can address many physical and behavioral stress related conditions; these include headaches, back and body pains, phobias, general anxiety, organ dysfunction and even self- sabotaging behaviors.

NET does not treat emotions or a form of psychotherapy, it is a therapy used when an emotion triggers a pathophysiological related reaction, generated by a neurological or meridian deficit. This is a mind body component when an emotion can generate a physiological reaction it is referred to as a NEC (Neuro Emotional Complex).
The first recognition of the emotional triggering of physiological reaction was found by Ivan Pavlov in the late 1800s. The famous Pavlov’s dogs showed the emotional reaction of bell ringing let to the dogs to salivate before food was delivered; this is a conditioned physiological response.

More recently the work of Dr. Candice Pert led to the discovery that emotional responses are composed of neuropeptides (amino acid chains) and their receptors. These neuropeptides can actually carry the encoded information to many neuroreceptors in remote places in the body, causing stress related physiological symptoms.
Practitioners who use NET are trained in the Home Run Formula to categorize health into four main areas. The first base is Emotional stress related factors, 2nd base represents effects of toxins on the body, 3rd base is the nutritional needs, and 4th base represents structural needs. It is vital that all factors of the bases are addressed to ensure full recovery for the patient.

NET uses muscle testing to find the stuck, negatively charged emotion stored in the body. As the snapshot of the emotion and the original triggering event is found, the practitioner stimulates the acupuncture points of the spine to help release the meridian or neurological blockage and help release the conditioned physiological response to the emotion.

After the correction many patients report great release such as heavy weights lifted off their shoulders. Many pains and system dysfunction can greatly benefit when energy or “chi” flows through the body is more fully restored.

NET incorporates Chiropractic and acupuncture principles, emotions, general speech semantics, and psychology principles to help release recurrent patterns in the body. Often recurrent vertebral subluxation can be released when the associated NEC is released. For more information on NET visit the website www.NETmindbody.com.
